Is US-CAN really needed? There are loads of flights to HK arriving at all hours of the day from the US that make same day connections to CAN really easy. I'd rather have more competition to lower fares on the PEK and PVG routes.

I like MP and UA but I don't want them to have the monopoly on SFO-CAN because they love to rake us over the coals as far as fares. I'd rather someone else start flying USA-PEK so that UA would be forced to reconsider their outrageous biz class fares. Having the CA code share 2 grand less than their own flight number is a bit much.
