I had a great reply typed up earlier today, and then the forums shut down before I could post it...so I've tried to recreate it as best I can.

Don't forget to check out the Delta Vacations last-minute deals. There are flight+hotel, flight+car, and sometimes flight+meal deals available from a number of cities.

For example, this morning when I checked, BOS had just one Fan Fare (LAX) and no Web Fares. However, the last minute deals included NYC, Seattle, and many others--for a Friday-Sunday stay!

For next Fri-Sun, it's giving me 53 flight+hotel and 19 flight+more (usually rental car--anything BUT hotel though). There's an NYC fly & dine that includes champagne and appetizers at Flute.

There's a lot of duplication (multiple packages to the same destination), but there are still many more choices than you get from web or fan fares.

HRGM's parents used this to get a good deal CLE-PHL including hotel for her cousin's graduation...it beat the heck out of driving.

Hmm, a fly & drive into LEX...crash at LexPax & GG's!

That does bring up a (possibly the) serious drawback of the lmdeals packages--there are a definitely limited number of departure points. CVG is there; LEX is not. BOS is there; BDL is not. You may have a way to go to get to the start of your trip....
