If you are pure leisure and plan to sleep late, I absolutely would not stay at HGVC unless the rate alternatives were prohibitive. Even if you don't face construction site you will hear it (hammering and pile driver noise - like all noise - travels through walls). Also the location is - as noted above - highly inconvenient for tourists unless you plan to slum it at the Sahara. You will also have to wait long for a cab and sit in traffic every night - IME even worse than other parts of the strip which can be avoided (but there is only ONE way into the HGVC).

Go with the Westin (or better yet Aladdin - where you might get a suite upgrade - I do every time even on $59 rates), sleep late, walk to everything, collect SPG points.
