So if no one OKs it do they just fly around until there is no fuel and drop from the sky? Sorry had to say it, I can just see it, "Uh yeah we are waiting on approval from the ground to let you sit down. Shouldn't be too much long...<drop>".

I will agree if there was a seat in coach she should have taken it for landing at least with some type of compensation possibly offered. I've had the busted seat happen to me as well although not mid flight as well as had the seat in front of me obviously broken and leaning back in my lap. Definitely is a bugger to have happen to you either way.
