You'll usually have to call SMS to get specific fare codes. Sometimes I'm in a situation where I can get a cheapo return leg, say a Q or K, if I book it as a one-way, but when I try to price the whole trip, with an expensive outbound leg, all the legs come up as B or something equally obnoxious, return included. I just call SMS and get them to set up the B outbound and K return.
Note - it doesn't happen often though. For me, I've found the default info from delta.com pretty good.
