Thought I may add another spin to this whole domestic Business Class debate. Does anyone understand the rationale behind DL's policy on Sky Miles partner Business Class award tickets where by domestic travel is in coach unless they have business class on the domestic portion of it. For example, if you claim an SQ award in Business Class, you only receive Business Class on the domestic leg if it is offered (coach if not). So, if you fly JFK - LAX to connect to SQ, you're in luck, but if you fly for example DFW - LAX to connect, you're probably out of luck because I believe those are First Class flight. How logical is that? Everyone knows that Business Elite is far better than domestic First Class. It's probably got something to do with the pricing - or who knows?
