Here's my suggestion since it is even more apparent that there will likely never be anything on FlyerTalk that meets your approval. And I'm basing that on your constant criticism of the way things are on FlyerTalk (BTW, in your recent criticism of Reviews - could you please point out the number of Reviews you ever contributed to the forum before you decided it was a waste on FT? Just wondering.)
Seriously, I might consider just resigning from FlyerTalk and seeking somewhere else that is that nirvana of freedom from overhead. It's simply hard to keep pointing out that the rule to address easy entrance to OMNI was never enacted to keep members from the forum, but rather it was the only easy to enact and enforce procedure to keep members from using it as a tool of strong opinion. As for being able to read it, well, i like the rule so i can point out that we really aren't trying to build traffic to get rich - given that OMNI sometimes is busy when the news in the world presents opportunities to disagree on the events of the day. And we elected for whatever reason to not make it viewable for a reason though i'm almost hate to admit we actually did think first - sort of ruins some members impression of us. We felt that if all members were to be able to read along, it would incite a measurable number of them to get hooked on the issue of gay rights, the Catholic Church and Clinton and Bush and thus go elsewhere on FT to try and run up their post count to get entrance thus creating a lot more work for a volunteer staff of moderators who are constantly trying to funnel the topics on FlyerTalk toward the enrichment of travel knowledge among its members. And this went alongside our earlier decision to limit members to prevent the establishment of XYZSucks and XYZisGAY user names and these are mild compared to some that were online for a short time until the mods busted up the name calling in disguise.
I'm thinking this advice might be your best option. Truthfully, it's not one i would take since i'm real happy with the value of miles, points and travel advice on FlyerTalk.
For those volunteers that toil day after day to try and balance things for the best of all members, it's really tiresome to see a few members that we can never please. They are always at the thread that wants to gripe and moan about what is wrong, but rarely ever there to give the high the high five.
I'm not sure who moved the thread in question to OMNI, but whomever did made a judgment call that it was not travel related. I read the post and you know, it could have gone either way. You seem to think it was only about travel. True, i saw the word travel in there, but i also saw that it was about a job, hopefully one that allowed the member to travel. But at the end of the day, if you took the time to read the replies, they were good honest profession related advice, not about travel. Go re-read the replies again and you'll see that they are mostly to do with life experiences, gap years and other advice... not much about the flight attendant path.
Why might the mod have moved the thread.... well, here's the direct post asking the question from the member: "This is where i come to you fellow FT'ers. What does society offer for somebody like me? How and Where do i get started in the world of Business. Is there any job out there where i can work my way up through perseverance."
He does mention travel elsewhere in the post, but this seems to be where he/she summed up what they were asking for.
Now, I realize that some of you - don't accept judgment calls in your lives, it's either your view or wrong, but i still believe that the mod in question did read the post and made a judgment call from what i just posted. I can't say i would have done the same because time and location has passed.
Anyway, we continue to be far apart on the value and purpose of FlyerTalk and I can tell you, I'm not planning on going anywhere. Just something for you to think about.
I hope you have a nice day.

But this is really not even the point. Randy established the Talkboard to figure out if and how FT has changed, and it has changed. We have all kind of new forums now that are all travel related. To suggest (as Randy did), that the post in question should have been about points or miles in the first place doesn't fly with me. The original post was about travel and I fail to see how it didn't belong on FT.
