I was around while it was being "converted". The whole thing was gutted from the inside and the exterior cosmetically trashed before being redone. And except for the external walls and internal structures needed to keep the building structurally sound, it's basically brand new from top to bottom on the inside. This was less a "conversion" than a near-demolition and re-build. New wiring, new plumbing, the whole kit and kaboodle.
