Mr. Megatop and I are considering a little sidetrip to Luang Prabang, Laos, following a quick stay at our home in Bangkok, The Peninsula, over American Labor Day weekend at the beginning of September.

A couple of FT threads have covered Luang Prabang. Can anyone add anything? Is it worth it for a couple of days? The VSOE hotel La Residence Phou Vao looks quite good.
