EC Compensation Regs

Has anyone in here successfully managed to get their mitts on hard cash according to the new compensation rules? I spent last Saturday afternoon waiting for a WW flight which was delayed by 2hr20m.. I was told of the delay at check in and so requested info as to my rights - I got a piece of paper which seemed to be a diluted version of the EC compensation rules (which I didn't realise until later). I got a £3 voucher to use at the caff though

The reason for delay was given as 'delays this morning which have created a knock on throughout the day'. This was later updated to 'technical issues'. The (only) great thing about Man is that you can see the planes at the gates and I noticed a WW plane with the visit wales livery departing and heading to Knock. Couple of hours of later guess which plane mine was??? The inconvenience was great not only to me but some family who waited at BFS for many hours drinking sh**e tea. We lost our dinner reservation and generally had a wasted evening ..

About to write a letter this weekend setting out what I believe to be my rights (250euro?). Not optimistic about my chances though.... Any help/advice from anyone??
