90 day rule

I am a Delta MM just needing to fly from OKC to MSP in Oct. I have not flown for 15 months with the except of a NW flight to Rochest, MN to go to the Mayo Clinic. My main malady is a DVT (bloood clot) in my left leg that sent 3 clots to lungs (PE) and almost took my life.

I am starting to fly again domestically this month and wanted to purchase this ticket, but then I ran into the rule that no seat assignments are made until 90 days from the day of department.

The flights I want are ARJ so of course I want 6D so I can have plenty of leg room and elevate my leg. Is there a way to get around this 90 day rule?

If not, will more flights open up closer to the date that I need to fly? And finally, it is generally true that the fare that is already $300 will always go up from this point and never down?

Thanks much for your help.
