Well, for this week it was the President of the United States' visit to DEL, which also has lots of persons and their families/friends staying back (and for longer); and this also happens to fall into a time that is also a peak tourist season and peak conference/meeting period in DEL.

The lack of rooms and higher prices is becoming increasingly standard at all times (other than perhaps during the miserably hot times there and even that is no guarantee).

Fortunately, the Shangri-La in DEL has not popped up on everyone's radar so far and thus it seems to be a good "go-to" property in such circumstances too.
