WS has a much smaller fleet to worry about than AC and can provide better answers because they don't have the large and diverse operations that AC does;they know where the spare aircraft is right away. The sys ops people should be communicating directly with the gate and letting them communicate information to the pax and I really don't know why that doesn't happen.
Real simple AC goofed and ran out of planes.... then they make it a bigger mess but not treating the customer properly when the planes break down. Also this isnt the first time... someones head should roll at the top... this is no way to treat a customer when planes break down.
