I finally figured it out; there are 2 slightly different AVOD systems installed on 744s, and amongst other operational differences one has commercials this month and the other does not. Programming content is identical. The one with commercials is also a bit sluggish at the helm.

The content is quite good, including a lot of TV shows. Such as 6 hours of "24".
