One of the nice things about being at home is that you don't have to unwrap the soap before you use it. That and knowing where the light switch is!

I'm not particular about the shampoo but will buy my own soap if I have a long stay. I usually take the leftovers home and like the small bottles of mouthwash when they have them.

I stayed at one place that offered wrapped disposable tooth brushes with dried toothpast on them. Interesting.
