What are the city pairs AC is thinking of that will require so many LR aircraft? There are the "obvious" (although they could all be served by a less costly ER rather than LR):

Or based on the 340-500 experience does AC just want to keep lots of spares in case they go mechanical?
Maybe AC figures it cant fill the 777-300's..... That has to be part of the thought process. PS unless AC add more planes to the order or keeps some 340 around they have already used up the extra 777 with the LAX run
