Mechanical Delay - Why doesn't AC go the extra mile?
Tonight AC 167 (non stop YOW - YYC) is delayed close to 3 hours because a truck ran into the airplane (while it was at the gate). I guess the delay is because they have to get a replacement AC to the YOW.
My colleague is quite frustrated by the lack of information the gate people have given out. The gate agents told everybody to stay by the gate, but on the AC website (flight status) is showed the flight was delayed until 20:45. When she asked why the AC website said that and they are telling something different, she was told the website is wrong - it is never right.
She said this is crazy - why can't they leave the gate and get some food.
She asked if they could move her to the YOW - YEG flight and then put her on a YEG - YYC flight and they said nope.
She asked if they would give meal vouchers and the gate agent said we are bringing out snacks and beverages.
She then said and that is why I continue to fly West Jet as my first choice - they give a darn.
