Thanks for the help and the link, but I'm still a little unclear on what's the best sporting match to attend on the weekend of Apr 1st.
As far as I can tell, Australian Rules Football is the most popular sport in Australia, but the only team that plays in Sydney regularly are the Sydney Swans. Unfortunately, because U2 is Sydney that weekend, the Swans aren't playing in Sydney.
I think the second most popular sport is Australian Rugby. Apparently there are several teams that play near Sydney regularly, the Rabbitohs, Dragons and Roosters. The Roosters are playing in Brookvale that weekend, the Rabbitosh are playing in Cronulla, and the Dragons are playing Wollongong.
I though Wollongong was closest to Sydney, but I'm probably wrong. Would the games in Brookvale or Cronulla be better to attend?

I believe that weekend there is a game on at Parramatta stadium. The organisation I work for sponsors the Rabbitohs so I know that they are playing down at Cronulla. I think they are playing on Saturday though. For more info you may want to check out
