Don't try to drive to the mall across the street, you can't park. The shuttle is great, they drop you off at the mall and you call when you want to be picked up (they were there in 5 minutes).
I go to this mall regularly and there is always parking available .. just depends on which side you want to be on.. and if you are just not feeling like it, there's valet parking at Neiman Marcus.
However, the mall is literally across the street from the hotel.. so perhaps the shuttle is more convenient.
