1) I personally don't see a need to "protect my miles"....I firmly believe NWA will be around
2) I don't believe a strike would prevent you from using either the web site or the folks at the WP center in the Iron Range to purchase a fight on a partner airline using miles
3) If NWA did decide they were closing they'd give a date/time when all miles would expire...that would be your deadline
