Denver Brian hit the nail on the head with why it wouldn't work - the sidewalks are too crowded and you can't get up and down the bridge crossings.

The strip is crazy for traffic, too, and thus would be impossible to drive on the road without risking life and limb.

Too bad, though, because the distances are big enough to warrant it.
