overland segments are allowed with a few exceptions. no surface segments betweeen hi and the mainland usa. no transoceanic surface segments.
the concept of rtw tickets is to travel 'round the world'. starting in asia, but stopping in usa is not a 'round the world' trip. again, with a few exceptions (middle east, africa, south america, usa/canada), one must end a trip in the same country as where one began the trip.
