You waited over a Month to send them in and think Hyatt owes you something?!

In noway would I see fit to blame teh Hotel you stayed in for this. Nor would I EVER have left it with them to get it sent, heck alot of Hotels dont get the Fedex pkgs coming in to me Promptly, Id NEVER assume that any Important letter would be mailed promptly either.

also could be that the Mailman came early the day you gave it in and yours then didnt go out til the next day. Yet the person looked and saw other letters and assumed therefore that the mail didnt go out as of yet. could be it was picked up on time but that the USPS didnt process it in a timely fashion.

My point is unless you went back to the person to whom you gave it and checked you really have no idea where and by which means it was delayed in getting PostMarked. It might not have been the Hotel faults at all.

id move on and make sure in the future to mail things not at the last min and to get it to a Main Post Office as well. after all if the Box near to ones home was emptied earlier then it would sit there till the next days run. and YES Ive gone to a Main PO and waited on line so that teh Clerk would stamp my letter in front of me on something that had to have had a Post Mark by a ceratin Date.
