Os thiis related at all to the new international security procedures? For return to the US, don't the airlines have to transmit to US immigration a verified list of everyone on the plane?

Last week, checking in at the kiosk in AMS for a return to the US, my wp card wasn't recognized for a reservation. I swiped my passport and it was recognized and I got the bp for AMS-DTW. Not the rest of the itinerary, thought.
