Well, I could have gotten a canal view if I had gotten a room with twin beds. In Australia recently, I got two of the nicest view rooms I've ever had. In Melbourne, I got a great corner room with a view of the Rod Laver tennis pavilion, and the beautiful park. At the airport there, I got a corner room, and could watch the airplanes taking off and landing. A great view for an airplane afficionado. (And it's sound proofed, so other than some wind/creaking noise, it was fairly quiet)
