You could also call maintenance at the hotel, explain that you want to hook up your DVD player or PSP, etc., and have them come set it up for you. You might have to wait a while, but that doesn't mean it wouldn't necessarily be quicker.
They might also say, "no." But I'd think most wouldn't, and even if they did, they'd be on the defensive trying to justify it.
