Thanks. A few more questions...
When you get the NEXUS card (replacing your existing CANPASS, or just a new one if you didn't have CANPASS), does it work in all CANPASS situations? YUL has machines that appear to do both, could a NEXUS card be used in one of those on arrival from CDG or FRA, or only from the US? Are all CANPASS airports now dual CANPASS/NEXUS airports for those entering Canada from the US or elsewhere? [IOW, do you give up anything by switching to NEXUS?]
The other direction, it sounds like flying into the US, NEXUS is usable only at YVR and soon YYZ. So at all other Canadian airports (including YUL, where there's a CANPASS/NEXUS machine on entering Canada), there no machine for entering the US?
If all CANPASS machines are also NEXUS machines, and there are a few (presently 1) airports where NEXUS is available [for entering the US] but CANPASS is not, is there any reason to apply for CANPASS instead of NEXUS? Is the screening for CANPASS in any way less onerous, intrusive, or lengthy, since it doesn't affect entering the US?
And is there a separate NEXUS land card? I think it uses handprints instead of iris scanning.
Thanks!
