This, of course, is the maddening part of it all. I was chatting with my neighbors across the street -- he's plat medallion on DL and she's CP on US (go figure)-- and both swore they were switching full allegiance to B6 in hopes that they would stick it out over the long haul here --- goodbye and good riddance to the miserable operations from both DL and US we've suffered through the past 18 months.
For my part, it'll be awfully hard not to be swayed away from the US barbie jets we get to PHL.......
And, on top of the better service, JetBlue is operating A320s to Portland, even though Delta has pulled all mainline service from PWM and US Airways offers very little, and none to New York. (I don't think CO or NW offer any mainline service in PWM, either, and UA might offer 1 737 to ORD daily but definitely no more.)
The US Airways search-by-price feature offers a particularly transparent look at what competition can do: Fares as low as $108 rt, matching JetBlue's lowest price, are available starting on May 23, the date that B6's service starts. Before that, the lowest available fare is $299.
