And as I just posted on that other thread, they are mutually exclusive. NEXUS is actually the US program run in association with Canada immigration and security for entry into the USA. CANPASS is our own program for entry into Canada. Land and air versions are also mutually exclusive, and I believe one would need a card/registration for each...

Ultimately, with encoded passports holding our iris scans, this system will be much expanded and increasingly used as an integrated entry process. I for one don't particularly mind not seeing others using CANPASS machines since it means we users can speed right through. That's the whole point of the system.
