I am thinking yes, because recently a GA explained to me that my chances for an upgrade were being trumped by a PM/MM and I was only a PM. So it would seem that MM status might elevate one above other PMs... but then I still don't get the upgrade heirarchy yet anyway!
Firstly, Congratulations! (or is it sorry! I once had an FA come over, after noticing my PM/MM status, and said "I see you're a Million Miler, I'm so sorry...")
You should receive a set of credentials (a Million Miler membership card and bag tags with the big SILVER Medallion on it, since you now get "Lifetime" or rather Annual Silver membership). They used to have the MM and current FF status all on one card but I don't know why they did away with that and chose to have two separate cards instead.
In the same packet, you will probably (i.e., I assume they haven't cut back on this) get an offer / choice (?) of some Hartmann luggage/acccessories. We used to get Hartmann luggage but they may have downgraded this to a Hartmann travel wallet or something similar...
And yes, being a PM/MM definitely does help with the upgrade lottery and does trump a 'lowly' PM although I'm not sure what you have to do (if anything) to change existing reservations records...
