Yes Geyleng is red light district, but I have stayed there and it is quite interesting

Never felt threatened and hotel was quieter (sometimes) than a lot of more expensive ones. rooms are small and basic, but clean. Awesome cheap food at all hours and MRT is close to some (check websites). Another similiar chain is Hotel 81.
