D3 is the basic pass that the employee can give to anyone.

You might want to have her check if she really is a D3. AA may have one of those clauses that if she is still in college then she still qualifies as a dependent and thus could use the D2.
Yeah, someone very helpful PM'd me all that info, appreciate it. That being a dependent thing is apparently relevant. I'll get all this info to her. Obviously her mom could do it but her mom surprisingly isn't all that on top of it, she's used to just flying wherever and hasn't had to think about what happens when her daughter leaves the house. And besides, FT is always smarter collectively than almost any single AA employee.
