Thanks for the info. She's immediate family (daughter) but having turned 21 recently I understand she is D3. She's mostly used to D2, hence the need to check more into this, as it appears her prospects have deteriorated. Much thanks for the response.
A few differences between D2 and D3:
1) D3 fare is more than D2
2) As a D2 the fare is different for Y and F, for D3 it is the same fare for domestic flights
D3 is the basic pass that the employee can give to anyone.
You might want to have her check if she really is a D3. AA may have one of those clauses that if she is still in college then she still qualifies as a dependent and thus could use the D2.
