I'm going to lose my elite status at the end of this month and would like to gain it back cheaply. I'm flying MSP to GTW and back for a vacation next month, and know I need to fly to Sweden in July for a wedding. What I would like to do is to book the cheapest ticket out of MSP into anywhere in Europe in July and then connect to my final destination via one of the discount airlines (Ryan Air, Sterling.dk, etc.). I found you can city hop for ~$50 US or less if you look close enough and are willing to go with no frills service.

So, prior to my loss of elite, I would like to book a ticket from MSP into the cheapest European airport. Does anyone know which airports might be the bare bones cheapest in the summer, and if there are any tricks like days of the week to search for? I did some rudimentary searching and found all tickets in the $1000-$1300 range. I can be very flexible in terms of layovers, days, etc.
