fair dos..... with regards to Avis BA, have just found this on the avis site
How and when are BA miles awarded?
Your BA Miles for Avis car rental are awarded automatically. However, following your Avis car rental, it may take up to
8 weeks for BA Miles to be added to your Executive Club account.
... so perhaps not the best solution!
Surely if the car hire transaction was completed in the target time frame, that would be sufficient evidence of EC activity to get the account re-instated should the miles not post before it switches to inactive status?
Although I'm drivelling and I think I've just understood what the OP and Swanhunter were getting at..... buy 1000 BA miles - d'oh!!!!! definately the best way to go active @:-) .... plus 50,000 BA miles is good for transatlantic longhaul! ^
i'll go crawl back under my stone and find my reading glasses
