Those destinations really suck.
You have to pay off every halfway high ranking official and his familiy, normally pay the only available ground handler that does not have sufficient equipment and after dealing with all those ordeals, the Government want their royalties and you are stuck in very restrictive bilateral agreements and more flights are only available, if the national carrier gets a certain slot at a certain German airport...
It goes without saying though that you can charge fares to these destinations that are reminiscent of the 1970`s , at least until some desperate US carriers with more debt than the combined GDP of those countries may decide to offer nonstop service to places like ATL
