I tried to do a search but couldn't find the info I needed.

I am thinking about doing an AA MR to PVG during the introductory fare period prior to May 18. To get the cheap fares (W class) you can't earn the 7,500 bonus miles. I tried to move up a little on the fare class to get the bonus miles for the 4 classes they mentioned but it jumps the fare to around $2500 from $800. So, I guess I will settle for just the base miles.

Then, someone told me I need a Visa to get into China and that just a passport won't work. I didn't see anything about that on the rules but maybe just missed it. Do I really need a visa? How is the quickest way to get an entry Visa for PVG? How much do they cost? Is there any risk in getting denied a visa? I would hate to book the fare and then find there would be a problem getting a visa. I am not sure where to start. Thanks for your help.
