Most PR are very dirty by our northern standards. They do a AM cleaning of the Isla Verde beaches but much broken glass, cig butts etc remain. Not too many other beaches are cleaned.......................ever.

In Ponce and in all other cities there are mucho small local restaurants where you can get a wonderful fresh hot breakfast (eggs, meat, fruit etc) for less than $5-6.
