A year or so ago, SW reduced capacity in the STL-MDW market, which probably made it possible to increase fares, though in todays press release, they just added another flight. It seems they are making an attempt to push fares in many short haul markets, and probably the only thing that differentiates which markets get higher fares and which dont are whether or not the market will bear the fare increase.
