I you like going to the cinema, particularly when you are travelling, you might want to check out http://www.cinematour.com/location.php . It's a forum for cinema buffs, but they have a huge list of cinemas from around the world.

It's not complete though as I've recently found "unlisted" cinemas in both Germany and Australia. As well, as it is an attempt to be an archival record of cinemas, there are lots of "closed" cinemas in the list. But they are clearly marked.
