Verizon will arrange for you to rent a global phone through one of their partners based in the UK. I've done this many times, and their service is excellent but a bit expensive. It's worth it to me to keep in touch with family and my customers. By arranging it through Verizon, you can forward your US phone to the rental phone, so that calls from the US will follow you. This is very nice since you won't have to give everyone an overseas number to call. (to limit the number of incoming calls, I send out an e-mail letting people know to send me e-mails while I am out of the country, unless they really need to reach me). Call Verizon to set it up.
