In Malaysia, there's usually an inverse correlation between the fanciness of the digs and the quality of the food. Those few places that beat the curve tend to be packed -- the only one I can think of off the top of my head for Malay/Peranakan food, Madam Kwan's, probably can't even cater to a group of 35...
