For total ambience, I'd give the nod to the W. If staying there and interested in seafood, have the concierge make a reservation at Elliot's down the hill and receive a complimentary crab appetizer.
That said, for those of us who are taller, consider the Hotel Monaco across the street, which offers "Tall Rooms." Having a 96" long bed is a supreme luxury for anyone whose feet overhang the edge of a normal bed!

What is it about Seattle and tall people? Our last trip - we stayed at the Bellevue Club (in Bellevue) and I had to use a step-stool to use the sink! I was told the place was popular with basketball players - but how many of them are there compared to normal people like me

? By the way - it is a very nice property and I recommend it if the location is convenient in terms of what you have to do in the Seattle area. Robyn
