You may want to consider traveling wiht a wireless router, I recommend the D Link pocket router. The thing is VERY travel friendly (very small, comes in its own cute case). All you do is attach it to your hotels ethernet cable and you have wireless internet for your laptop (if you arent wireless enabled a cheap card can also be bought). I used to lug the long cable and now I am soooo much happier in hotel rooms and wire free!!!!
Also gotta love the hampton Inn lap desks. Wish every property in the world provided them!
