Friend needs a 6-month open return ticket to Maputo. He has been quoted US$3000. Seemed pretty steep to me, so I offered to ask around here. Does anyone have a good travel agent who specializes in open-return tickets to southern Africa?

I was thinking a Star Alliance award on TAP Portugal would have been the best option but * alliance awards don't permit date changes, so that's a no go.

Another idea was buying two separate tickets, one to/from JNB and then another to Maputo for a few hundred bucks.
