I posted a similar question regarding Singapore in that forum.

I'm looking for a place for our group (about 35) to do dinner and catch a bit of the Malay culture while we're in Kuala Lumpur. We'll be staying at the Renaissance and it would be nice to find something either in that area or near some major tourist areas (where people could go out on their own afterwards).

Any recommendations?

Someone had suggested the Saloma Theatre Restaurant, but it looks expensive given that this is Malaysia, too touristy (and perhaps cheesy?), and perhaps not of that good quality. My instinct could be wrong on that though.
