Every backpacker setting out from BC knows its cheaper to bus down to SEA and fly from there, even transiting through YVR. Be careful about booking some cheap fares to ensure they do earn AE miles. Cheap SQ and TG fares may earn a percentage or no miles. Make sure codeshares are indeed booked with AC flight numbers too.
They are all AC flight #'s, booked directly on AC's website with upgradeable status mileage earning fare codes.....Unbelievable if you ask me. And yes I can't believe the E reservation agent wouldn't know that but rather lead me to believe that I should book it ASAP because it was probably incorrect. And it's not like a I care much either, just earned myself an extra 1000 miles for the flight down to and back from Chicago while still saving money.
