I'd tend to agree with them as it happens, but that is not the point. You are free to start whatever threads you wish. And if members advise Mods they appear to be full of nonsense I imagine they may have a quiet word with you:

That's the usual proper prodical on FT.
I just want to preserve this as I comment on the original thread topic. A minimum post count for new members would be very unfriendly and unwelcoming. Many of us found our way here exactly because we had a burning question about upcoming travel. Not everyone decides on first inspection to make a forum a way of life so I it's not really realistic to ask for this huge investment of new people on day one.

Instead, that's why we have a TalkTeam to help new members find their way around and correct any problems. As for people trying to game the system, I certainly know of a few longtime members who like to stir up trouble on the weekends or when the magazine has deadlines. Post count is far from an indicator of class or responsibility.
