Assuming you can swap the terminal font to a different TrueType font, and you're needing a good legible monospaced font: download Andale Mono. It's a Microsoft font, and it rocks: extremely legible to the point that programmers the world over make a special point of installing it (I first learned about it in an OO Actionscript book).
MSFT previously offered Andale Mono as a free download, it's now available for free as part of a distribution that's on Sourceforge. Google around for it and you should be able to pick it up.
