Yesterday, I flew from LAS to home via DEN.

DEN was a mess. UAX flights were delayed about three to six hours.

We were told that in ground fuel lines had frozen ( ) and that they had to refuel aircraft the old way with a fuel truck. Seems that there are not lots of fuel trucks in DEN. UAX flights were arriving and being parked on the tarmac awaiting gates. Pax told stories of waiting an hour to get to the gate.

Add to this delay, waiting for fuel and crews...and you had the ingredients of a mess.... People were waiting since noon for their connecting flights and it was 6pm. Concourse B UAX gates were full of people sitting on the floor. Add to this situation, conflicting annoucements on departure times....no news for some gates. We were told three times that the YWG flight would leave shortly and nothing happened

My 6:35 pm flight finally departed at 12;40 and we were the last flight dispatched.

Note to self. Avoid UAX if possible. I was not impressed with their handling of the situation.
